February 04, 2012 : In Manipur, heavy polling is reported from almost all the 34 polling stations across 11 assembly constituencies in the five hill districts. In view of the large scale violence and malpractices during the last Saturday’s polling for the 60-member Assembly elections, the Election Commission ordered re-poll in these polling stations.

State Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Karam Bono Singh told reporters that by 11 am, about 31 per cent of the voters have cast their votes. All the 34 polling stations have already been declared hyper sensitive and full proof security has been provided for smooth conduct of there-poll.

There is no report of any untoward incident so far from any of the polling stations scattered in the five hill districts of the state.
